Mary Robinson, the daughter of John Robinson and Jane Robinson (nee Townsend), was baptised on 16 December 1746, according to the Forest of Dean Family History Trust from Littledean Parish records, ID 166044, and the 'Gloucestershire, England, Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1538-1813'. The baptism took place at Littledean, Gloucestershire, England.
Joseph Lloyd (1741-1828) of the Parish of Abinghall married Mary Robinson on 30 July 1771 by Minister Benjamin Webb in the Littledean Church, Gloucestershire, England.
They would have 8 children, born from 1772 to 1781, all in Abenhall, Gloucestershire, England[1]. Two of their 6 sons, Nathaniel Lloyd (1775-1845) and Edward (1779-1846) had their cousin Edward Robinson (1791-1870) as an Apprentice at the Postlip paper mills, Winchcombe, from age 12. This would lead to Edward's son Elisha Smith Robinson's involvement in the paper manufacturing and marketing world through the business of E.S. & A. Robinson, Co.
It was in 1780 that her husband purchased the Gunn's Mills paper mill from his father, Joseph Lloyd (1708-1761), who had converted it from an ironworks to a paper mill.
Bigland Transcripts[2] gave Mary Robinson's age as 37 years when she passed away on 24 February 1784 in Abenhall Parish, Gloucestershire, England
