Obituary

Anderson Clayton Bros Funeral Home Mary Allen, 91, of Terrell, passed away on May 25, 2014 in Terrell. She was born on April 2, 1923 in Flatonia, Texas to Beau Robinson and Gertrude (Gray) Robinson. Mary worked for over 30 years for Prudential insurance before retiring. She volunteered her time at the local hospital making bears and lap blankets for patients. Mary was a devoted member of Poetry United Methodist Church for 25 years and loved gardening and traveling. She will be missed by many.

Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ishmael Allen, her parents, and 5 siblings. Those left to celebrate her life are children W. Gail Carter and husband John of Denison, and Wayne Allen and wife Gail of Terrell; grandchildren Cammon Granger and wife Adrianne of Wills Point, Shawn Allen and wife Debra of Crescent and Bryce Allen of Grandbury; 9 great grandchildren; and sisters Joy Manofsky and Dixie White. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends who will all miss her dearly. Memorial service will be Wednesday, June 11 at 12 pm at the Poetry United Methodist Church in Poetry, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Allen’s honor to Poetry United Methodist Church.
