Her father was convicted of stealing ham and sentenced to be transported to Australia as a convict aboard the Surrey [1]. The rest of the family immigrated as free settlers aboard the Broxbornbury which left England on 22 February 1814. Both the Surrey and Broxbornbury arrived in Sydney on the same day 27 July 1814.[2]
She married John Bull on January 03, 1823[3]. Together they had 15 children:
In the 1828 New South Wales census, Mary was living with her family in Cabramatta. Their property was 150 acres, 60 acres cleared, 20 acres cultivated, with 7 horses, and 50 horned cattle.[4]
