Was this the same William Robinson who was a witness on the 1795 Middlesex Co., VA Will of Major Maurice Smith (Maurice had been a court justice in the county)? Maurice’s granddaughter Caroline Carter Smith married into the same overall Chowning family.

he had 2 children by Elizabeth Lilly - Lucy Lilly Robinson b Jan. 1, 1807 & posthumous child Judith Willantina [sic] F. Robinson (Family Bible), b March 9, 1808. his widow m (2) "Mr. Chowning of 'Locust Grove'."

His will was dated "in Middlesex County, November,1807"
