Will of Peter Robinson [1]
Peter Robinson of Parish of St Johns in King Wm Co, VA. Imprimus. Give and bequeath unto my two sons Christopher and Peter (Jr) to be divided equally at the age of 21 (both under 21). He gives to them Herring Crk parcel of land (3000 a) including all negroes (except such as my daughters claim by virtue of an "Intail") together with stocks and household and kitchen firniture. The lot to the survivor if one dies. They are to pay debts, funeral expenses and to pay the 3 daughters, Judith, Lucy, Sally Robinson all the money due them by virtue of a decree of the Gen Ct. that he received, "or My estate shall be subject to the payment of. Lastly, His brothers, Christopher, John and William and worthy friend Philip Whithead Claiborne exrs of estate.
Appoints same 3 brothers as Guardians to the 3 daughters and appoints Philip W. Claiborne as Guardian of his 2 sons.
Set his hand and seal on 8 January 1765 Peter Robinson (L.S.) Witnesses: H Skyring, Tho Claiborne, Joseph Stiles
Codicil - the following day, Jan 9, Peter Robinson testifies that he has omitted a piece of land lying on Chickmany River that he bought, which formerly was part of estate of John Holloway, desc, and instructs Exors to sell this land for the most they can get for it, and the money rising from sale he gives to his two sons, Christopher and Peter to better enable them to pay his debts.(Same witnesses) King Wm Co House; O M Winston Clerk - January 14, 1880
