James Robinson[1] was born 16 Jan 1766 at Flat River, Orange, North Carolina,[2] son of Michael Robinson and Mary Ray who married 1753 in Orange, North Carolina:[3]
He married Margaret Ray 29 Apr 1788 at Orange, North Carolina[4] and had the following known children:

- William Byrd
- Mary
He passed away in 1827 in Hardiman, Tennessee. Will: The will of James Robinson probate dated 7 Aug. 1829[5] [6] Names in will: [7]
