Biography

William Robeson was granted lands from his wife's uncle in 1729. Edmond Smithwick - Grantor April 25, 1729. 100 acres ....for love and affection....unto William Robinson and wife Mary during their lives....then to William Robinson...my Godson...That plantation where the Robinson's now live on SS Morrattuck River and Devil's Gut Swamp.[1]

This land is reasserted in court by his son William, Jr. in 1747, which indicates this William was deceased by that time.

He is not to be confused with William Robeson who was older and had a different spouse. Their relationship is not clear.
