Biography

Edward Robinson was born in 1676, in Wilmington, New Castle, Delaware. In 1696, Edward married Anna Walraven. After the death of Anna before 1714, Edward Robinson remarried several times: first to Margaret Claesson, daughter of Jacob and Grety Claesson (by whom he had three additional children); second to Elizabeth, widow of Matthias Peterson; third to Sarah Empson Bird, widow of Thomas Bird; fourth to Ingeborg Tussey Sinnex, widow of John Sinnex. Edward Robinson died 31 May 1761. [1]

Edward Robinson is the father of Catharina Robinson; Israel Robinson; Margareta Robinson; Jesper 'Joseph' Robinson; Robert Robinson; Jonas Robinson ; Anna Robinson; Johan 'John' Robinson. Edward died May 31, 1761, and is buried in the Old Saint James Mill Creek Episcopal Church Cemetery in Wilmington, New Castle county, Delaware. [2]

Edward was an Englishman by birth, but settled in Delaware in the late 1600s and though he and his family member, George Robinson, were Quakers, Edward learned Swedish, and married into the Swedish community and baptized his children in the Old Swedes Church, and became a member of the Church Council.[3]
