Biography

James was born in 1787. He is the son of William Robinson and Margaret See. James was a Lt. Col. in the War of 1812, Virginia Regiment. He moved to Ohio in 1801. He was an Associate Judge for Coshocton County, appointed by the Governor. He served two terms in the state legislature of Ohio. He farmed and was very active in the community. He was a founding member and supporter of the Bethany Methodist Episcopal Church. Source: Historical Collections of Coshocton County, Ohio by William Ellis Hunt. He and is buried in Bethany Cemetery, Coshocton County, Ohio. His wife, Amelia, is buried in William Robinson Family Cemetery in Conesville, Coshoction County, Ohio. [1]
