Samuel Robinson, BOOK BINDER, CHURCH REGISTRAR[1] was born on the 23rd November 1785 in Olney, Buckinghamshire, England. He is the son of John Robinson and Sarah Barnett.[2][3][4]
On the 1st November 1806 at St. Peter St. Paul Church located in Olney, Buckinghamshire, England, Samuel married Martha Davey.[5][6][7] To this union were born at least three children; Felix, Elijah and Abel.
Samuel passed away on the 8th March 1846 in Olney.[8]
A Samuel Robinson appeared as a witness to Thomas Sheffield's (b.1791) and Ann Stratton's wedding at St. Mary's in Olney in 1817. While there were at least two Samuel Robinson's in Olney (b. 1762) so it's hard to pintpoint, it is this lineage that intermarries with the Sheffield's in later years, so there may be some possible connection here.
Religion
In 1837, the English non-Anglican churches were required under new civil regulation to provide the vital records of their parishioners. On July 8th 1821, Samuel becomes the church Registrar who in 1837, transcribes the records of the birth's of the many family members who attended the Olney Baptist church in the years prior.
It was indicated that Samuel Robinson led the church choir, and was a member of the church for 41 years. Deacon John William Soul presides over the signing of Samuel as church Registrar. We do not know presently which John William Soul it was, since their were several and no age was recorded.
