Mary A.M. Robinson, first wife of Curtis Pyle, must have died after 1866 (year Ella would have been born) and 1870, census year in which Mary is not shown living in the same household as Curtis, George and Ella Pyle.^[6]

In 1870 Curtis Pyle is living near his brother Joseph Pyle, in Concordville, Upper Chichester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, with his 2 children (George W Pyle age 10; and Ella L Pyle, age 5).^[6]
