John Robinson was born in Huntingdonshire, England.

John "Jack" Robinson was born on January 28, 1866 in Great Stukeley, Huntingdonshire, England, United Kingdom. His parents were Robert Robinson and Emma Fordham.[1] He was baptised on March 30, 1866.[2]

In the 1871 Census, he is five years old, living with his parents and attending school.[3]

Jack first learned to operate a plough when he was eight years old.[4]

By 1881, the Robinson family had moved to Coppingford, Huntingdonshire. Jack is fifteen and working as an agricultural labourer.[5]

On November 9, 1888, Jack married Lizzie Wade Rimes at the Church of St Giles in Holme, Huntingdonshire.[6] He rode in a carrier's cart to the church.[4] The service was performed by Reverend J. W. B. Laurie, and the witnesses were George Robinson, Jack's brother, and Emma Green, who would later become George's wife. A wedding feast prepared by Lizzie's aunt, Elizabeth Oliver (Wade) Lant, was held in a barn at Black Ham Farm, which lasted for two days.[4]

Jack and Lizzie had eight children; Mary Ellen, Ethel Lily, John William, George Henry, Arthur Ernest, Florence Jane, Kate Elizabeth and Arthur Walter.

In 1891, Jack lived with his family in Holme Fen, working as an agricultural labourer. His father and mother-in-law, Isaac and Elizabeth Wade, lived next door.[7]

In 1901, Jack and his family were living at Whittlesey Mere and he was working as a general labourer.[8]

In 1911, Jack was employed as a Cowman on a farm and lived with his family at 84 Holme Fen.[9]

Later in life, Jack and Lizzie lived in the village of Yaxley, Huntingdonshire. They lived on Main Street.[10]

They celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary on November 9, 1948.[4]

Jack died on March 4, 1951 at his home in Yaxley. He was 85 years old.[11]
