Biography
teaching degree from Geneseo Normal School NY State. high school teacher of languages, then school preceptress Married Dr. Charles H. North at age 32 Had three surviving children. Widowed in Dec. 1917 when husband was killed. Moved to Plattsburgh NY, and in 1921 (a year after women got the vote!) was elected Children's Court Judge for Clinton County, a post she held for 12 years. An enlightened woman, long-time community activist, far ahead of her time. A Republican, but great admirer of F.D.R. and Eleanor Roosevelt; would not be a Republican now.
