Research Notes

Mehitable Rockwell was usually called Hittabel. She was born c 1661, in Stamford, CT. She was a daughter of John Rockwell, who was called "formerly of Stamford" in Hittabel and John "Keeiler"'s marriage record at Norwalk[3] and possibly his first wife, Mehitebal? Unknown.[4]

On 14 September 1656, a "Hittabel Rock" or Rock (?) well died at Stamford. There may have been a mark of contraction following the name. If this were true, she was probably a first wife of John Rockwell. Naming patterns (that John named a daughter Mehittabel) and a gap in the births of John Rockwell's children also point to a possible first wife.[citation needed]

Rockwell-1486 and Rockwell-33 appear to represent the same person because: Some of the stuff on -1486 mentions she was the wife of Keeler.

Rockwell-1286 and Rockwell-33 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, birth date and place, same death place. The death date seems to be an error on Rockwell-1286. Very few people lived to be 115 years old in the 1600s. There is no source for this death date - probably a mistake

Please approve, if you agree. Thanks!

Rockwell-33 and Rockwell-1286 do not represent the same person because: Wrong death dates, needs more research to compare correctly.
Rockwell-1286 and Rockwell-1486 appear to represent the same person because: two loose duplicate profiles

I tried to clean this up from merged profile but I'm trying to find out which source provided marriage date to John Keeler as 18 Jun 1679 b/c New England Marriages Prior to 1700 gives that as her marriage date to Zerubbabel Hoyt.
