Betsey/Betty Rockwell, daughter of John and Hannah, was born Lanesborough , Massachusetts Oct. 14, 1768^[1]

She married March 8. 1792, Rufus Mead, a farmer, son of Ezra and grandson of Timothy Mead. He was born at Rutland. Vt., Oct. 15. 1764. ^[1]

Rufus Mead, b. Rutland, Vermont, 15 Oct 1764, d. 26 Nov 1824 in Cornwall, Vermont, married Betty Rockwell on 08 Jan 1792. Betty's father Private John Rockwell Sr. & his wife Hannah Scott, both b. in Ridgefield, Conn., are recognized by the Daughters of the American Revolution for service: ^[2]

They settled at Cornwall, Vt. She died there Oct. 14, 1848^[1] — and was buried at West Cemetery, Cornwall, Addison County, Vermont^[3]

Rufus Mead christened his son Rufus in Cornwall, Vermont, on 04 April 1793.
