James Rockwell, son of John and Hannah, was born April 12, 1758, in Ridgefield, Connecticut.[1]
James was a farmer and shoemaker, he married Mercy Smith, of Jericho. Vt., daughter of Isaac Smith, and settled in Cornwall, Vt., She died about 1819 and he married the Widow Scovel[2].
He died July 6, 1833 and is buried in Cornwall, Addison County, Vermont, USA [3]
