Hi Sylvia, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your Irish Roots, I wanted to let you know we have a lively project that focuses on Irish family here called the Irish Roots Project It would be a great place for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.
The project pages contain lots of advice, links videos etc for researching Irish ancestors.
You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in the Irish Roots Project will be happy to help you in any way they can. Thank you so much for joining WikiTree.
Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well.
Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide.
Also Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.
And of course, I'm here to help in any way Im able. Just ask!
Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree. You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.
If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the Help section or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.
I have been researching the genealogy of the Rodgers family who arrived from ireland to the United States in the early 1800s and the families into which it has married. I agree with Wikitree's mission and to abide by its nine simple rules.
2. Our help pages, top right, have all sorts of useful information.
If you would like to contribute, click the volunteer button and leave a comment here on your profile to let our greeters know. You should include a little bit about how you plan to contribute to the tree.
Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)
