Biography

Reverend Dr. John Rodgers was an presbyterian minister who was influential during the founding of the United States.[1] He was the first pastor of the Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City[2], and he regularly corresponded with George Washington.

Rev. Dr. Rodgers is mentioned in Ron Chernow's biography of Alexander Hamilton as serving as a mentor for Rev. Hugh Knox, who in turn had a life changing influence on Alexander Hamilton.
