Sarah was born in 1824. She is the daughter of Abijah Rodgers and Roxanna Skinner. She passed away in 1898. [1]


Obituaries

Sarah Ann Rogers was born June 2nd 1824 in Bristol, Ontario county, N. Y. and departed this life Friday, April 22nd 1898. She and was united in marriage Monday, May 4, 1846 to M. Augustus White of Boston, Mass. They moved directly to Michigan and have enjoyed nearly fifty two years of life together filled with labor and sweet communion. Six children were born to them, three sons and three daughters, five of whom survive her, one son having died in infancy. Mrs. White united with the Methodist church early in life and was a woman of marked character in piety and religion. Her life was a continual growth of loving friendship, a strong power always governing her christian character. None knew her but to love her, and a loving wife, mother, friend and neighbor has gone from our midst, but what is our loss is her gain for she died trusting in her Savior, knowing that the Lord was her "rock and her fortress and her deliverer." The funeral was held from her late home on Monday at one o'clock, conducted by Revs. W. H. Lloyd, assisted by J. J. Tickner. The remains were interred in the village cemetery.[2]

Mrs. Augustus White Died There April 22

Died-At her late residence in Farmington Friday, April 22, Sarah A. Rogers White, wife of M. Augustus White, aged 71 years.

Sarah Ann Rogers was born June 2nd 1824 in Bristol, Ontario county, N Y, and was united in marriage May 4th 1846 to M. Augustus White of Boston, Mass. They moved directly to Michigan and have enjoyed nearly fifty-two years of life together filled with labor and sweet communion. The high esteem in which the deceased and family is held was attested to by the great profusion of flowers at the funeral, the casket being covered with the fragrant blossoms while underneath and banked against the wall were still more in abundance. During the services the schools were closed that the teachers and pupils might have an opportunity to attend.[3]
