Robert was born about 1844. He was the son of Thomas Roe and Maria Boyer. He passed away in 1862.
Robert C. and his older brother Charles H. were members of Company G, Twelfth Illinois Infantry, during the War Between the States.
On the breaking out of the Rebellion Robert and his brother Charles H. responded to the first call for troops, enlisting August 1, 1861. [1]
Robert C. was killed in the Battle at Fort Donelson [2], [3] February 15, 1862.
