Biography

English flag
Abigail (Roe) Taylor has English ancestors.

Abigail was born about 1660. She is the daughter of Hugh Roe and Abigail Stow. She passed away some time after the birth of her last child, Mabel, who was born in 1688.

The family of Hugh and Abigail Roe lived for a time in Weymouth, Massachusetts Bay Colony, where several of Hugh's 7 children were born. Abigail was the second wife of Hugh, and their first child, Samuel, was born in Weymouth. It is unknown where their remaining 3 children were born, including Abigail the daughter. Weymouth is now identified as Weymouth, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA. [1]

The family later moved to Suffield, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Suffield eventually (in 1716) became part of the State of Connecticut. Suffield is now known as Suffield, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA. [2]

In 1692 the Massachusetts Bay Colony was incorporated into the Province of Massachusetts Bay, of which parts eventually evolved into the State of Massachusetts (more or less).
