She died 1 February 1876/1877 in Eden Twnp., Licking Co., Ohio.[4] She is buried in Barnes Cemetery in Licking Co., Ohio.[5]
RESEARCH NOTE -- There is some question about when Phebe died. Although local records show she died in 1876 and that her son Franklin was born in 1876, her tombstone shows 1877 and majority of records for Franklin indicate he was born in 1877.

362y-d GEORGE WILKIN6, b. at Wilkins east of Newark, Ohio, Mar. 6, 1823; d. 22 Feb. 1880; m. PHOEBE ALMEDA ROE, b. in Mary An Tp., Licking Co., Ohio, Mar. 17, 1845; d. 1 Feb. 1877. Mr. Wilkin served his country faithfully for three years in the 76th O.V.I. of the Union army in the Civil War. After the war he married and settled in Eden Tp., in his native county. He was a true citizen and prosperous farmer.
