Peter "Roe" died at Suffield on February 4, 1738/9[1]
Peter is a descendant of Hugh Roe. Hugh's descendants are detailed, after a fashion, in the Frank C. Roe book[2]
Peter's descendant's are listed on page 10.
The family lived for a time in Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts Bay Colony and then moved to Suffield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Suffield eventually became part of the State of Connecticut. Suffield is now known as Suffield, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA. [3]
In 1692, the Massachusetts Bay Colony was incorporated into the Province of Massachusetts Bay, of which parts eventually evolved into the State of Massachusetts (more or less).
Peter's wife was Sarah, reportedly Sarah Remington daughter of Thomas and Mehitable who married Peter on 24 January 1688/9.[4][5][6][7]
The will of Peter Roe of Suffield is dated 31 January 1732/3 and was proved 13 February 1738/9.[8] It names:
wife Sarah
sons John Roe, Thomas Roe, Samuel Roe (deceased)
grandchildren Samuel, Joseph (under 21), Ebenezer, Peter (under 21), Abijah (under 21), and Mary (under eighteen and unmarried), children of his son Samuel Roe (deceased)
daughter-in-law Mary Roe relict, widow of his son Samuel
daughter Abigail, wife of John Adams
daughter Sarah, wife of Samuel Hathaway
daughter Elizabeth, wife of Abner Kent
daughter Mary, wife of John Clemmons
daughter Marcy Roe
daughter Hannah, wife of Ephraim Fletcher
Executors were sons John and Thomas. During the enumeration of his land grants to his grandsons, he noted that it took some time to write the will and that grandson Ebenezer Roe had deceased during the writing.
Research Notes
No primary source is yet known to corroborate that Sarah the wife of Peter Roe was Sarah Remington born in 1668. The exact marriage date suggests there may be one, but for now all recordings of this marriage date come from secondary sources and cannot be given the credibility of a primary record.
When researching on any original records, consider these name changes over time. Some of the transcribed or interpreted data uses modern names instead of the event-contemporaneous names. This profile follows the Wikitree guidance for location names. [9]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Peter by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Peter:
