Hello!
I learned that I am related to Margaret (unknown maiden name) DeHart Roe as my 4th grandmother. Margaret's daughter, Eleanor Mary (nee DeHart) Secor is my 3rd great grandmother. A few weeks ago, I ordered and read Eleanor's son, Andrew Jackson Scott, A.K.A Edwin Gilbert Secor's civil war pension. It mentioned that Eleanor's father died when she was so young, so Eleanor's mother remarried Mr. Roe, a baptist preacher. From my research: At that time, Eleanor (nee DeHart) Secor, her husband, Josiah Secor and their family lived in Arcadia, Wayne County, New York, where Elder William Roe lived. I believe that Wiliam Roe and Eleanor's mother met and married each other. When Margaret moved to and lived in Lenawee County, Michigan, Eleanor, Josiah, and their children moved to and lived in Lenawee County, Michigan. I have a copy of Eleanor's daughter, Frances' death certificate; It stated Frances' mother, Eleanor Roe of New Jersey. I hope that it makes sense to you. Looking forward to a reply from you soon. Sincerely, Peter Skarp
