Charles Roe was born on September 27, 1771, in Long Island City, New York, the child of William and Mary. He married Barsheba Watson on February 10, 1794. They had four children in 37 years. He died on August 18, 1838, in South Bend, Indiana, at the age of 66.
CHARLES ROE, born Sept. 27, 1771. Probably in Oyster Bay Township, Long Island; married Feb. 10, 1794, Barsheba Watson, Daughter of Michael and Mary (_________) Watson, then of Mason County, Kentucky. She was born Mar. 23, 1778, in Maryland. They settled on a farm in Mason County, KY., which they bought of George Stockton. About 1805 they removed to Montgomery County, Ohio, and setttled in or near Dayton. In 1806 Charles Roe is mentioned as one of the leading men in the Baptist Society at Dayton. August 23, 1815, he sold his farm and removed to Wayne County, Indiana. He bought land north of South Bend, in St. Joseph County, Ind., Aug. 10, 1833, and resided there until his death, Aug. 18, 1838. His wife died Aug. 13, 1838. They were buried on their farm."
