Biography
Stephen Roe was born 1779, died 1852. He was Deacon, and the son of Capt. Austin Roe and Catherine Jones.
He married 1st Sarah (Sally) Smith, daughter of Barnabas Smith of Hempstead and Esther Smith (her maiden name was also Smith) of Huntington. Their children are:
- Catherine Roe, 25 Sep1800 -22 Oct 1845; married Peter Hallock
- Smith Roe, 31 Jan 1802 - 1 Sep 1804
- Ebenezer, 1803-? may have died in infancy
- Esther Roe, 23 Jul 1803 - 15 Sep 1805
- Maria Roe, 27 Jul 1805 -?
- Ebenezer 1808-1882
- Sally Roe, 8 May 1810 -?; married Issac Hudson
- Stephen Smith Roe, 08 Apr 1812 - 18 Mar 1893; married Huldah Sophronia Randall.
It is believed, not proven, that Sally died soon after giving birth to their youngest Stephen, 22 May 1812.
He married 2nd Sarah (Sally) Beebe. Their children are:

- Thomas Roe 1821-1844
- Elizabeth Roe 1823-1856
