Dorotha Jean Roffler Cronk, a resident of Garfield passed away peacefully on April 6, 2011 at Ladow Court Assisted Living. Jeannie was born August 16, 1921, to Walt and Mabel Hazzard Roffler of Pine City, Washington. She was a 1939 graduate of Pine City High School and attended Spokane Beauty School, graduating in 1940. She married Carl Gene Cronk at Steptoe on September 14, 1941. Together they raised two children on the Cronk homestead farm southeast of Steptoe Butte. She was a member of the Ladow Grange in Garfield, Ladies Cow Cutting Club in Colfax, and the Garfield Bowling Club. She looked forward to countless weekends at Williams Lake with friends and family, enjoyed playing piano at family gatherings and was especially proud to watch her grandchildren grown and compete in numerous athletic events. Jeannie remained on the farm after the death of her husband in 1993 until 2006 when she moved to the Ladlow Court Assisted Living Facility in Garfield. She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Cronk Carlon of Pine City and a son, Michael Cronk of Garfield, four grandchildren, Tonya Malaby of Camino Island, WA; Travis Carlon, of Pine City, WA; Jason Cronk, of Garfield; and Jennifer Cronk, of Spokane; also surviving are eight great-grandchildren: Tate, Trenton, Paisha & Troy Carlon; Dylan Hansen, Ben & Brian Malaby; & Kendall Cronk. She was preceded in death by a sister Betty Nelson and a granddaughter Tori Carlon. Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe with Pastor Bob Ingalls officiating. The family suggests memorial gifts may be given to Garfield EMT or Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax is caring for the family. [1]
