Emily Rogers was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She moved to Plymouth, Indiana in November of 1989. She moved to Rowlett, Texas in July of 1997. She moved to Arlington, Texas in August of 2002. She graduated high school (James Martin High School) a year ahead of schedule, in 2003. She completed an associate's degree in 2008 at Tarrant County College, a bachelor's degree in Philosophy in December 2010 at University of Texas at Arlington, and a master's degree in Linguistics in May 2013 at University of Texas at Arlington. She married Randy Alan Freed on February 23, 2008 in Plano, Texas, and got divorced on March 24, 2009, after which she returned to her maiden name. She married April Marina Lee, then known as Kevin Lee Waddle, on April 2nd, 2011 in her mother's living room in Arlington, Texas. She moved to Iowa City, Iowa in 2013 in order to attend graduate school in Philosophy at the University of Iowa. Her first child, Riley Albus, was born in 2015 in Iowa City, Iowa. Her second child, Levon Keaton, was born in 2021 in Iowa City, Iowa. She divorced April Lee and returned to her maiden name on September 15th, 2023.
