His will is dated 25 September 1753 and proved on 12 November 1753 in Norwich. He mentions his wife Elizabeth, Lois, wife of Zebulon Lothrop, Anne, wife of Phineas Hide, Elizabeth, wife of Ezra Seldon, Lucretia Rogers, Theophilus Rogers, Uriah Rogers, and Zabdial Rogers. He mentions three enslaved black boys, Hannebal, who continues his enslavement with Theophilus Rogers, Bristow who will continue his enslavement with Uriah Rogers, and Primis, who will continue his enslavement with Zabdial Rogers. His inventory is completed on 12 November 1753. There is one other enslaved black person listed in the inventory by the name of Silba.[2]

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Theophilus by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
