Biography

The Life Summary of Jane Ann Rogers

When Jane Ann Rogers was born in 1688, in Wales, her father, Robert Rogers, was 36 and her mother, Elizabeth Baldock, was 24. She married Thomas Pugh on 23 December 1709, in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. They were the parents of at least 11 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 16 September 1730, in Hampshire County, Virginia, at the age of 42.[1]

Parentage

Her father, Robert Rogers was born about 1652, in Dolgelly, Merionethshire, Wales. He married Elizabeth Baldock on 10 October 1687, in Dolgellau, Merionethshire, Wales. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 5 July 1723, in Radnor Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, at the age of 71, and was buried in Chester, Pennsylvania.[2]

Marriage

Isaac Malin married secondly, Jane (Roberts) Pugh, daughter of Roger Roberts and Elizabeth, widow of Thomas Pugh on the 23rd day of the 4th month, 1727 [23 June 1727].[3]

"Att our monthly meeting held att Gwynedd the 30th of the 3rd month 1727...

6th Isaac Willing [sic, believe this is Malin] and Jane Pugh declared their Intentions of marriage the first time - Lydia Harry and Hannah Rees are appointed to Inspect into her Clearness and Conversation and report the same att next monthly meeting. [30th, 3rd mo., 1727]"[4]

“Att our Monthly Meeting held att Gwynedd the 23rd of the 4th month 1727...

1st Isaac Melin and Jane Pugh declared their Intentions of marriage with each other the second time - Sarah Daws and Sarah Hank are appointed to see that their marriage be soberly and decently accomplished.”[4]

Their marriage were occured in Gwynedd Monthly Meeting. Gwynedd Monthly Meeting at this time was the meeting for membership, marriage, choosing people to attend Quarterly Meeting, discipline of wayward members (those whose children marry non-Quakers mostly) and settling personal disputes amongst members in Gwynedd Township, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.

After her first husband, Thomas Pugh died, Jane Ann (Rogers) Pugh married secondly Isaac Malin, and they had no children.

Death

At age of 42, Jane Ann (Rogers) (Pugh) Malin possibly died after 1730 in Hampshire County, Virginia while visiting her Pugh descendants who lived in Virginia.[5] However, she possibly died in home of her second husband, Isaac Malin in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
