An estimated birth date for Rogers (with unknown given name) is 1600 in England.
As a young man, Mr. Rogers who was a minister, was brought to New England by Mr. Allerton to serve the church in Plymouth; the year was 1628.
The people of the Plymouth church had previously suffered by the ministry of one "Mr. Lyford," so they were dismayed that they were to have a minister whom they hadn't invited. After questioning him they discerned him to be "crazed in the brain" and he was sent back to England.
Unless additional citations are placed here, this biography is based on R. C. Anderson's "The Great Migration Begins."
