The mother of (William Rogers born about 1657): is Mary Unknown-
Per Tina Rogers Beller Files: May 1, 2016:
"Some of these earlier John Rogers researchers mistook the 1668 Surry Co., Va. TITHABLE for JNO. Rogers/ Atkins meaning that wife Mary was an ATKINS when no wives are ever listed on TITHABLES unless they lived apart from the land holder
(John Rogers in this case.) and were head of their own household apart from the land holder (Jno. Rogers). Thus Atkins could be male or female, who is head of their own household, living separate and apart from Jno. Rogers and his family, but on his land. I think of the ATKINS as possibly being renters on John Rogers property in 1668 and also were included in the TITHABLES of John Rogers in 1668, 2 years after he acquired his 200 acres in Surry Co., Va. along Cypress Swamp in 1666, for transfer of 4 persons to him then, with one being Mary Eldridge. It is not unheard of for wives being used as headrights to gain more acreage by the land holder (but we cannot prove that Mary, wife of John Rogers, is Mary Eldridge). You were allotted 50 acres per transferred person then, and they worked off either their passage paid for by the land holder or worked off their indentureship ( usually average is about 7 years of work) then gained tobacco for their own land purchase per indentureship and settlement procedures then. This was a system of Indentureship set up to populate Virginia and other states as quickly as possible."[1]

__________
"William Rogers, the oldest surviving son of John and Mary Rogers, was born on Roger's Plantation, on the James River, in Surry County, Virginia, around 1657. Sometime in 1678-79 he married Jane Owen, the widow of Bartholemew Owen In Surry Co., Virgina Tax Record. There was only one surviving child of this marriage, a son named William born 1680 in Surry County, Virginia, and died probably 1769 in Sussex, Virginia. ( Surry/ Sussex Co. VA were part of Albemarle Parish then ). In 1685, William Rogers and Joshua Proctor were jointly granted 900 acres of land in Surry.
Shortly thereafter Jane died, and in 1686 William married Elizabeth Cartwright, daughter of Robert Cartwright. They had at least nine children:
William Rogers and Elizabeth "Cartwright" Rogers children were:
Elizabeth Rogers 1686 m. Ellis
Joseph M. Rogers, Sr. 1695
Benjamin Rogers 1687
Robert Rogers 1690
Mary Rogers (1694 - 1751) m. Bennett
Sarah Rogers 1696 m. Bledsoe +/or Bennett
Priscilla Rogers 1700 m. Proctor
Jane Rogers
William Rogers 1704
In 1714, William was granted 220 acres on the south side of Blackwater Swamp in Surry. He died in 1727, leaving his plantation of 450 acres to his youngest son, also named William. (It was not particularly unusual in the seventeenth century for a man to give the same name to sons born of different wives. This custom is a great inconvenience to family historians.)"
He died leaving a will in Surry Co., Virginia. In it, he named his son, Joseph Rogers (father of Sarah Rogers Tarver).
Here is the will of William Rogers b. 1657-58 Surry Co. VA who died 1727 Surry Co. VA and left his will naming both his sons who are William's. William b. 1680 Surry Co. VA was son of Wm. b. 1657/58 and 1st wife some listed as Jane Owens, while the younger William b. est. 1704 Surry Co. VA is by Wm. b. 1657/58 and last wife ELIZABETH CARTWRIGHT.

ROGERS are the ANCIENT CELTS. WE know our ROGERS DNA group are also the same haplogroup as several others were also haplogroup tested. We can tell from the various DNA markers too that they would be same haplogroup if they are a DNA MATCH to us as well. This haplogroup we have is the same for many today who are in England, but have the Ancient Celts as their distant ancestors. This goes back thousands of years on the haplogroup testing. We know William Rogers b. 1657 Surry Co. VA is son of JOHN ROGERS, I who was born abt. 1617 and arrived on ship "George" in 1635 and may have been the same JOHN ROGERS who was a Burgess in Jamestown VA. Later in 1666 John Rogers moved across the James River to SURRY CO. VA when he gained 200 acres of land for transfer of 4 persons to him. This John Rogers born abt. 1617 in Wales remained in Surry Co. VA until he died between 1685 - 1686 in VA
William was born about 1657. William Rogers ... [11]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
His middle name was Henry and one of his sons was William Young Rogers. That’s likely where the confusion lies. I know this because they are my 9th and 10th great grandfathers.
Rogers-2416 and Rodgers-3591 appear to represent the same person because: Both profiles refer to Findagrave memorial 105757756. Should the last name be Rogers not Rodgers?
