I don't think he should be attached to John III. He was born in Warwick and John III appears to have never left Essex. Also, John III, in his will, says his son John was his eldest son.
A bad merge resulted in this person being attached to the wrong Thomas Rogers as father. Ive detached him aware we need to find his correct fathers profile.
Jillaine, John Rogers (Rogers-1186) was added as father of this John Rogers, but the correct father, I think, should be a Thomas Rogers. I cannot remove the incorrect father because one of the profiled is PPPd. Can you do it? Thanks, Vic
I have tried to find something on John and his father, and all I run into is misinformation. Online trees connect a John with the same baptism date to Plymouth, Connecticut and Virginia. I think it is possible that the baptism date shown here is for a different John. I cannot find anything to confirm which Thomas might be his father or even that he was really from Stratford. There is a John Rogers, son of Thomas, who was baptized in Cherington, Warwickshire, in 1617. Cherington is only about 12.5 miles south of Stratford, which is the nearest big town. The Cherington John could possibly be the John in this profile. Without more sources, I don't see a way to solve the problem of John's father.
Jillaine, John Rogers (Rogers-1186) was added as father of this John Rogers, but the correct father, I think, should be a Thomas Rogers. I cannot remove the incorrect father because one of the profiled is PPPd. Can you do it? Thanks, Vic
