LAKE HAMILTON -- Mr. Ralph W. "Buddy" Rogers of Lake Hamilton died of cancer Thursday (Dec. 19, 2002) in Davenport. He was 71.
Born Nov. 14, 1931 in Bradenton, he moved to Lake Hamilton in 1930. He was a state inspector for citrus and vegetables for 42 years. He was an Eagle Scout, member of the Order of the Arrow and a Lake Hamilton volunteer fireman. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Lucerne Park.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Alice Rogers; daughters, Wynne A. Darulla, Orlando, Karen Joyner, Lake Alfred; sons, David I. Rogers, Orlando, Steven W. Rogers, Scotsdale, Ariz.; brother, Herbert T. Rogers, Tampa; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care. Services will be 2:30 p.m. at Graveside Florida National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Thornwell Home & School for Children, in Clinton, S.C., P.O. box 29325-9972.
