Biography

During movement of two armies about Saratoga and ajacent country, my grandmother - grandfather being absent in the Army - removed with her family down the Hudson River to some point below Albany, not now remembered., returning after surrender. She took a yoke of oxen and a cart and loaded up what household goods it would contain and went on their journey. -Dickenson Rogers Notes, 12.26.1882
