The she was daughter of a William Romney was discussed in an 1891 genealogy by Horace Edwin Hayden:[1]
"There is no record of Col. Ball's marriages among the marriage bonds of Lanc'r Co., nor do I find any mention of the name of the first wife in the county or church books. The Letter Book of Joseph Ball, son of [this] Col. Joseph Ball by his first wife... [makes] no mention of the maiden name of his mother... But there is among his descendants a tradition that Joseph Ball's first wife was named Elizabeth Romney or Rumney. A tradition so trusted that the name Romney occurs frequently in this line in memory of his first wife." [He also describes an old parchment certificate with the arms of William Romney of London, dated 1593, in the possession of a Ball descendant.] "The Downman tradition, the frequency of the name 'Romney' in the line of descent from Col. Jos. Ball, the parchment certificate of the Romney arms, and the entire absence of the name 'Rogers' from the records of his descendants, appear to me to outweigh the statement made in Col. James Ball's [1789] letter..."

From the visitations of London 1633, it is absolutely clear that Elizabeth the daughter of William Romney and Margaret Bowater was born before 1633, so therefore would not have children born in 1680s. They have been detached as parents.
There is no evidence of a middle name "Julia" -- middle names were VERY rare in that era.
She died before 11 July 1707-- the date of a deed in which Joseph indicates he is not married (but which also mentions a set of children by-- presumably-- an earlier, but now deceased, wife).

I see that William Romney got re-attached as father despite what's in the narrative; any objections to re-detaching him? Or has new information surfaced that identifies him as Elizabeth's father?
Y'all do what you think is best. I am tired of humping my butt on this family just to get shot down every time I find information. I don't know what you expect to find in the way of sources; I've found all that I am able to find within MY attainable resources.
I'm in favor of this merge (with Romney-76) IF we detach Elizabeth's parents (and genericize her birth place) and move the parents (including links) to the narrative under a Disputed Origins section. We also need to arrive at an agreed upon estimated birth year.

Robin, take a look at Romney-76 (into which Romney-81 was merged) and I think you'll find the evidence you need to complete the merge. The 1711 date must have been a "before" date at some point in its evolution. AND it was probably a typo for 1707.
Misty, wonderful image of the Book of Common prayer that you added here. Could you please edit the description so we know more about it and where it came from? Many thanks!
Romney-121 and Romney-81 are not ready to be merged because: The dates of death are different, and I have found yet a third date of death, in addition to records indicating that Elizabeth died before her husband came to America. I need more time to sort through all of the records before I can merge these profiles.
