Private Thomas Root served with 19th Regiment, Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.

Thomas Root is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A097533.

Moved to Middlefield, MA about 1783 from Enfield, CT where he settled in the Pease District not far from Metcalf's Tannery (Lot 14, III Div., Becket). In 1790, he purchased land in "the gulf" of the Westfield River at the foot of Mt. Gobble and built a house.

Thomas Root was born 28 Mar 1726 in Somers, Tolland County, Connecticut.[1]

Thomas served as a private for Connecticut in the Revolution. [2]

He died 15 Mar 1821 (aged 94) at Middlefield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts

Burial: Middlefield Center Cemetery, Middlefield, Massachusetts

Spouse Alice Pease Root 1736–1821[3]
