1867 Erik was born on 25 Aug in Koldemo, Arbrå. His mother was the unwed crofter's daughter Margta Hans(dotter)[1] In the far right column of the birth book there is a contemporary note stating that E. Rosén in Mörtsjö has admitted in writing that he is the father of the child.
1867-1869 Margta and her baby son lived with her parents. Erik Rosén is also with them in the household record. He married Margta in April 1869 and the new family left for Söderhamn in May.[2]
1869 Erik and his parents settle in Söderhamn. His father, Erik Rosén is a painter. His mother is a midwife.[3]
1880 When Erik is 13, he is found living in Söderhamn with his parents[4][5]
Under construction ... the following is being re-written
When the twins were born they were separated directly and sent away. Why? Eva doesn't know for sure, but she thought it could be because it would have been difficult to support two children and also because of the shame of the situation.
Eva's mother had a good childhood and thought that her foster parents were her real parents. When Eva's mother, Ingeborg, was 18 and should start a school in Gävle she met Elisabet who told her the story. Eva has letters/postcard from when her mother grow up from her mothers biological mother Edla. In those letters Edla call herself always aunt (swe. moster). Edla passed away 1929...[7]

1903 jan 29 we have a Erik Rosen? moving to New York together with a brother Olof Rosen who already is living in North America a guess is that its his father's brother. He is departure from Christiania (Oslo) on ship S/S Norge[21][22] the same ship that was sinking a year later 1904[23]
1905 may 31 probate after his father "fabrikör" (eng. factory owner) Erik Rosen. People mentioned in the probate
Söderhamns stad Rådhusrätt och magistrat (X) FII:25 (1904-1905)[24] Estate and inventory after "Fabrikör" Erik Rosén page 1 out of 25 . The son Erik Rosén is mentioned vistas i Amerika (eng. living in Amerika). A person J. Hedberg will take care of his interests
1906 nov 3 his former wife Anna dies and it looks in the Census 1910 that his children is now living at Annas grandfather and that the father is in America....
1907 jan 14 his mother Margareta Rosen has passed away and a probate after her is written. It says leaving heirs the son Erik Rosen who is living in Amerika och the daughter Sigrid Dorotea Sandin born Rosen....[25].
1910 There are two Erik Rosens listed in the 1910 US Census -- neither of the immigration dates makes them a likely match for this Erik Rosén:
Erik Rosen (b. ca. 1866, Sweden; immigrated 1888) is living in Silver Creek, Lake County, Minnesota as a boarder in the household of John Guill, who apparently runs a boarding house. Erik is the only resident from Sweden.[26]
Erik Rosen (b. ca. 1867, Sweden; immigrated 1887) is living in Roseland, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota with his wife, Lizzie, and daughter, Mamie, who is 14 years old and was born in Minnesota. So, this does *not* appear to be the same Erik Rosen, unless he is the daughter's stepfather.[27]
1920 We now have three Erik Rosens in the 1920 US Census, and based on their immigration dates, none of them seems likely:
Erik Rosen (b. ca. 1866, Sweden; immigrated 1888) -- appears to be the same as #1 in the 1910 Census -- now living as a boarder in Leiding, St. Louis County, Minnesota in the household of John Krause from Germany. Erik does not have any relatives living with him. Leiding is about 135 miles away from Silver Creek (see map).[28]
Erik Rosen (b. ca. 1868, Sweden; immigrated 1887) still living in Roseland, Minnesota and still married to Lizzie (now listed as "Lisa"). Their daughter Mamie (spelled "Mayme" in this listing) is now married with the last name of Blomquist, and all are living in the same household. Mayme's husband is Albert Blomquist, and they have a son and daughter, Bertil (age 4) and Elsie (age 0). Again, it does not seem likely that this is the same Erik Rosen given that his 24 year old daughter was born in Minnesota.[29]
Erick Rosen (b. 1868, Sweden; immigrated 1892) married to Josephina with son, Clarence (b. ca. 1898 in Massachusetts) -- all living in Boston, Massachusetts. Based on his immigration date and the age of his son, he is not likely to be the same Erik Rosen.[30]
1932 jul 29 passed away 64 years old[18][31][32]. Death reason Tuberculosis. He was living at the elderly house with no known other place. [34]

Research Notes
Brick Wall solved - Father unknown - What was done
Research goal: Find the unknown father in Sweden of Elisabeth Uhlin
Julie Ricketts had already done some research in the Swedish church books but was not 100% sure of father. Main problem is the swedish language in the Swedish churchbooks...
Magnus checked in the sources found and the best one was the household book 1896-1905[14] that contained a note of father Erik Rosen
Next step was starting to check in the probates to Erik Rosen to verify any more evidences - negative
In 2015 Arkiv Digital released a beta version of its client that contained a register of people in Sweden 1950 ==> Magnus did some search and found a daughter of the sister to Elisabeth Uhlin ==> she confirmed the story and had a name and a photo that she sent to me
Case closed
Sources used to solve Brickwall
Swedish churchbooks by using the Arkiv Digital application to find
Birth records
Household books
Probates
Used a new register SBF1950 that contains all people living in Swedish and then used a site Ratsit.se that contains all people living today in Sweden

To Do
Follow up his connection to North America see video also check were his son Frans Erik Gunnar moved in USA and if there is a connection. We also have the person he travelled with 1903 to America Olof Rosen
20151005 A Probate was ordered HLA 421-2015/29701. In Archive Digital we have most of the probates with nice register for Söderhamn (Söderhamns stad Rådhusrätt och magistrat) see below. The odd thing with our eric is that in the source SDB1901-2013 that is a second hand source it says passed away 1932 jul 29 but unknown place of living. Update we have found him in the household books from 1932 see v191180.b2730.s1705[32]
In Sweden documents younger that 70 years can normally not be scanned ==> you have to order or visit e.g. the death records. The books in Sweden are registered at NAD (National Archive) and Söderhamn is available on the net. If you check serie E - death records (sw. Död- och begravningsböcker) then the book Eric can be in is 1932 ==> Bok FI:7 1924 – 1944 which is not scanned yet

Track what books from Arkiv Digital are released and scanned for Söderhamn. See page about county Gästrikland. It explains today available books and what will be scanned soon - Sälgö-1 16:15, 1 April 2017 (EDT)
Looking in the moved in records for Söderhamn 1929/1930/1931 looks like we have a date in the householdrecord 1/12?!?![32] - books not scanned yet - 16:30, 1 April 2017 (EDT)
Look after a Estate and inventory - Nothing found in Arkiv Digital. I have heard that when you dont have enough you dont need to do an estate and inventory but it should be some kind of paper written also if you had nothing. This must be checked - 22:22, 1 April 2017 (EDT)
As they divorced in 1901 and at this time period it was not easy to get a divorce either the other partner should have escaped or "begått hor". So I guess this was some kind of court case and well documented. Court documents for Söderhamn 15 jan 1900 could be what should be looked after in the Swedish National Archives. Date 15 jan 1900 is stated in Söderhamn (X) AIIa:1c (1896-1905) Image 760 / page 964[14] - Sälgö-1 22:22, 1 April 2017 (EDT)

Hej!

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Erik by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Erik:
Interesting to see that his wife Anna Fornander is from what I think a "fine" family. They have a big add in a magazine http://www.wikitree.com/photo/png/Rosen-296 when they are engaged
Think we should be able to find Erik Rosen in the USA
