Birth & Upbringing: Charlie was born in the Marula District of Rhodesia in 1938.
Military Service: The BSA Police was very much a para-military service and was the nation's first line of defense. Young policemen were thus thrust into armed conflict during the insurgency of the later 1960's and the decade which followed. Those who appear on the BSA Police Roll of Honour (War) are afforded full military honours in the true sense.
Occupation: Part-time Policeman - joined the BSA Police in ; Reg. No. 8563G; served until April 1979. Charlie was an active participant in the Police Anti Terrorist Unit (PATU).
Honours and Awards: In January 1975 he was the recipient of the Police Reserve Long Service Medal (PRLSM) [1]
Demise: Killed in action - landmine incident while serving as a Field Reservist in Kezi (Operation Tangent). [2] [3].
