William was in Norway when his father died.
He granted Adam Urquhart a charter of Inchrory in 1338, and the Sheriffdom of Cromartie in 1357.[1][2]
Before his death he was stripped of all his lands which were given to his son in law Sir Walter Leslie.
Papal dispensation was given on the 25th of May 1342 for William to marry Mary MacDonald.
