Charles Edward Ross was from Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. After their marriage he was employed in Sydney at the N.S.W Government Printing Office as a Compositor until his retirement. Their family were born in Paddington and they then moved to a new home they had built in Govette Street on a newly opened estate near Centennial Park Randwick. For several years prior to her death Alice was crippled by a stroke and spent her remaining years in a wheelchair ,devotedly cared for by her husband until his death in 1940. Alice continued to live at "Halcyon" Govette Street and was cared for by her daughter Vera Alice and son Frederick Adrian.
