Opal Mae Ross, daughter of Zeke F. Ross and Mollie (Wadley) Ross, was born on a farm in Pettis County, Missouri, April 29, 1918. She attended the country district school. On May 12, 1940, she married Homer Donald Ames, at Newport, Kentucky. To their marriage were born:
