George Ross, son of George Washington Ross and Martha (Steelman) Ross was born on a farm in Heath Creek Township, Pettis County, Missouri. He was never married, and died intestate at the State Hospital in Nevada, Missouri, September 11, 1925. His brother Z. F. Ross was appointed Administrator of his estate by the Probate Court of Pettis County, Missouri, and the original Application for Letters of Administration names only the following heirs:

Emily Belle Wilcoxen, sister, Nevada, Mo., State Hospital.
Minerva Farley, sister, Green Ridge, Mo.

A Supplementary Application for Letters of Administration was filed later, naming the following heirs:

Lee DeWitt, nephew, R.F.D. 1, Beaman, Mo.
Newton DeWitt, nephew, R.F.D. 1, Beaman, Mo.
Mrs. Bettie Bradshaw, niece, 116 E. G St., Hutchison, Kansas.
Paul Warden, nephew, 591 W. Short St., Lexington, Kentucky.
Raymond Warden, nephew, 420 S. Santa Fe St., Wichita, Kansas..
George Ross was very much interested in horticulture and was a grower of fine fruits, grapes and berries.
