Hi Sarah, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your ancestors in Scotland. I wanted to let you know we have a great project that focuses on Scottish Clans here called Scottish Clans Project It would be a great place for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.
You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in the Scottish Clan Project will be happy to help you in any way they can. Thank you so much for joining WikiTree.
Good luck with your research. By the way the web site you want for BMD and census info for Scotland is Scotlands People.

Hi! I work at the Midland County Public Library (Texas) in the Genealogy Department, so I've learned a lot about genealogy in the last few years. I'm interested in my Ross family from Scotland through Quebec especially, because it's the family I currently know the least about. My mother also does genealogy, and has learned a lot about her family tree, but this is my dad's side, so I wanted to do it myself. I've traced the line through Ancestry and Family Search, and I'm currently acquiring the documentation to support the findings.
