He is noticed in Ferguson's work[1] in the Marriage Register of the Scots Brigade when he appears in a contract of marriage, 30 November 1747, at Den Bommel, South Holland, Netherlands, between himself, stated to be a Sergeant in Captain Thomas Mackenzie's company, and Willemine de Wert, stated to be the stepdaughter to James Cavallier, Drum Major of Colonel Marjoribanks' Regiment. The witnesses to the contract were Sergeant Holm Frater and Alexander Murray, soldier of Colonel Mackay's Regiment. They were married on 19 December 1747.
