Biography

Sarah (Ross) Givens was an Appalachian.

Sarah was born on 18 August 1826 in Craig, Virginia. She was the daughter of James Ross and Jane (Black) Ross.[1]

When Sarah was 18 she married on 29 September 1844 in Giles, Virginia.[2][3]

In the 1880 census Sarah (age 53) was living in Simmonsville, Craig, Virginia, USA. Marital status: Married. Relation to Head of House: Wife.[4]

Sarah died at the age of 62 on 17 July 1889 in Simmonsville, Craig, Virginia.[5]

Sarah died in 1889 and is buried at Ross Cemetery, Craig Springs, Craig County, Virginia.[6]
