Daniel was born in 1872. He is the son of John Ross and Jane Robson. [1]Daniel went to the University of Toronto and received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from there in June of 1899.[2] He was registered as a dentist in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on June 30,1900[3]and had a practice there for several years, also serving as a customs officer. He married his wife Alice "Edith" Beatrice Clarke on December 18, 1902[4]and they had a child while living in Moose Jaw. In the spring of 1906 they left Moose Jaw and moved to Saskatoon for a short time, living with Edith's parents, and then went to Medicine Hat, Alberta where Daniel set up a dental practice in the fall of 1906. [5]The couple had their second and last child in Medicine Hat. By 1911 the Rosses had moved to Calgary, Alberta. Daniel had a dental practice on 8th Ave. West called Modern Dentistry. He was a member of the Calgary and District Dental Society.[6] Edith's parents lived with the family in Calgary until they both passed away. Daniel, who suffered from diabetes, passed away on March 12, 1926 and is buried in Burnsland Cemetery in Calgary.[7]No headstone was erected on the plot. His wife survived him by 43 years.
