In the Scotland Census of 1851 Robert Peel Ross (aged 8) was recorded at Ross and Cromarty, Scotland in the household of his father Haratio Ross (49) and his mother Justine Ross (35). Also in the household were his two siblings Colin George Ross (12) and Edward Ross (14), as well as 11 other individuals.
In the England and Wales Census dated 1881 Reverend Robert Peel Ross (aged 38 and single) was recorded as the head of the household at Drayton Bassett, Staffordshire, England.

In the 1901 Scotland Census Robert V Ross (aged 56) was recorded living with his wife Georgina Ross] (38) and their daughter Zoe F Ross (15) at The Drevin, Inverness, Scotland. Also in the household were servants Joan Mackenzie (22), Mary Mackay (45) and Isa Mose (28).
His Last Will and Testament was dated 31 October 1906.
Robert passed away on 1 December 1921 and was buried at Tomnahurich Cemetery, Inverness, Highland, Scotland[2].
