Biography

Margaret Ross, daughter of William Ross, a banker, married Reverend Alexander MacBean, Jr. son of Alexander M. MacBean of Inverness, Scotland.

Margaret and Alexander are the parents of:

• William MacBean, born July 9, 1794, in Edinburgh. He became a writer.

• Charles MacBean, born June 11, 1797, in Edinburgh.

Margaret died November 23, 1826, and is buried in the graveyard of Kincardine. The inscription on her headstone reads:

"Sacred to the memory of Mrs Margaret Ross Wife of the Rev. Alexander McBean Minister of this Parish. She departed this life on the 23rd day of November 1826 years. This marble stone is erected by her husband to commemorate her many virtues as a wife and a mother."
