CONT CONT CONT CONT My data at the moment has 1282 people with 521 families and has become quite difficult to email. CONT CONT I see in your document that you were in contact with Desiree. CONT CONT Unfortunately I had not started my research by the time she passed away. CONT CONT Her daughter Carmel, has sent me her scrap books, which I made copies of, which has quite a lot of information on the Roux Family descendants. CONT CONT I have been in connection with Christie Van Der Walt, this gentleman has produced a Van Der Walt CD that is 2000 pages long. CONT CONT I purchased this CD and went through all 2000 pages, and could find nothing of either Jacobus Lukas Martinus VAN DER WALT or Alida Maria Dorothea ROUX. CONT CONT I then went and spoke to 2 of my great uncles, Willem Hendrik (Billy) and Nicolaas (Nicky) VAN DER WALT in the last couple of months, and they had the following story to tell: CONT CONT CONT CONT Their father Jacobus Lukas Martinus (Koos) Van Der Walt, they say was one of 2 children to the first “marriage” of their grandfather. CONT CONT I say grandfather, as they do not know his name, nor do they know their grandmother’s name which is a great pitty. CONT CONT They did however tell me that their father did have a sister from this marriage, who was known as ‘Tannie Baps’, they also mentioned that she married a Tommy Pullen and that they had 3 sons, Sedrick, Martin and Tommy, who lived in Turffontein Johannesburg. CONT CONT CONT CONT I thus went back to the CD and did a search for Pullen, and guess what, there was a Van Der Walt, who married a Thomas Pullen and they had three sons by the above names. CONT CONT I can thus only make the deduction that Koos was her older brother (unless his date of birth is wrong, as there is a Jacobus Lukas Martinus as the 3 child but only born in 1910). Through the Pullen connection, I can thus trace the Van Der Walt ancestory. CONT CONT I must however emphasise that this information has not been confirmed by baptism records etc. CONT CONT Possibly we could do some research in this matter together. CONT CONT CONT CONT Another part of my research I have been trying to do, is find the Ancestors of Dorothia Salomina NIEMAND our great great grandmother. CONT CONT Although I have the Niemand document from the Genealogical institute of South Africa, I have not been able to find her on it, nor a any marriage to a ROUX.
